We were actually planning to send this out at the end of last year, but we didn't finish in time...It already feels nostalgic, but we'll be sending you the 24 biggest news stories from mitosaya for 2024.

Although we usually spend our days calmly working on creating things, special events like these add color to our year.

twenty four . mitosaya's book

" 13 Things to Make at the Mitosaya Herb Garden " has been published. Introducing Mitosaya through 13 things. This book is packed with the latest activities of Mitosaya.

twenty three Farming Friday 4th year

Farming Friday, which is held every Friday, is now in its fourth year. The number of regular participants is increasing, and it's a lively and fun event.

twenty two . Sweet potato spirits
" ROUND POTATO " and " CARAMEL POTATO " are now on sale , sweet potato spirits made from ingredients provided by the Mutsuwa Post Office's dried sweet potato factory . They were also featured in the Yuyu Shimpo , a newspaper read by postal workers .

21. Wedding

A friend of mine held his wedding at mitosaya . It was a wedding that was very mitosaya-like, with the bride and groom arriving in a light truck, Nao Mikami 's wild bonfire cooking, and the opening of a barrel to reveal sake made with Isumi pears.

20. Selected as Farm Distillery

The distillery was selected by the American Distilling Institute (ADI) as a Farm Distillery, a distillery that combines farming and distilling.



19. Au's artwork

Mitosaya, which works with one artist each year to create the label artwork, has chosen Polish architect and artist Aureliusz Kowalczyk as its artist for 2024. He is fascinated by simple lines and rich colors.

18. Confusing

Mikotoya, a vegetable and ice cream shop, Miyoshiya, a taco shop, Milohiya, a crepe shop, and mitosaya. We all have similar names, so we got together to hold " Yayakoshiya ". By sharing ingredients, it became an even more complicated event. We also reunited at NEW JEWERLY in December.

17. Indigo grows big

The indigo seeds that we brought back from Ishigaki Island in the spring have grown large, so we harvested the leaves and dyed them with indigo.

16. Mitosaya's uniform

In collaboration with United Athle , we have produced original mitosaya T-shirts, jackets, aprons, etc. The artwork is of course by Au.

15. Mitosaya Newspaper Market Stall

If you select "NO" on the mitosaya homepage, the mitosaya newspaper made by children will appear . The mitosaya newspaper will be published by Soil to Soul FARMPARK. We opened a stall at the Christmas market for the first time. We sold character stickers, ornaments, T-shirts, and more.

14. Podcast appearances
During the time that mitosaya's podcast " Distillery Class " was on hiatus, the world saw a podcast boom. I appeared on several podcasts, including Maeda Emma's podcast " Daily Punctuation " and a discussion with Yamamoto Chiori on the GINZA SIX podcast . Distillery Class will be back in 2025.

13. DIC "Forest Tour" and Candice

We created original products to coincide with the exhibition " Sounds of Silence " by Katsuhito Nishikawa at the Kawamura Memorial DIC Museum of Art . "Mori no Meguri" is a drink that feels like taking a deep breath in the forest, and candies made from herbs and seasonal flowers. The number of visitors increased sharply after the museum's closure was announced, and we were forced to significantly increase production.

12. Pop-up event and talk in Taiwan
We had a talk with Wes Kuo, chef of the Taiwanese local gastronomy restaurant EMBERS, at NOKE Taipei, Taiwan. Their magazine, iá Wildflower Flavor Studies , is also available at mitosaya.

11. Edition Tokyo / MITOSAYA COCKTAILS
The Lobby Bar on the 31st floor of Tokyo Edition Toranomon is offering " MITOSAYA COCKTAILS ," a cocktail made with six types of mitosaya's distilled spirits (until February 2025).

10. Collaboration with OSAJI
Skincare brand OSAJI has released a range of hair and body care items inspired by PASTICHE , a liqueur that mitosaya has reinterpreted from its own unique perspective, based on the traditional French liqueur Pastis .

9. MITOSAYA POP UP AT CHISE
During the summer holidays , we held a pop-up event for mitosaya at the restaurant " Chise " in Ikoro Forest, Tomakomai City . It was a wonderful summer garden memory.

8. New staff and interns
New members have joined mitosaya and CAN-PANY. The new staff members are making the most of their abilities in production and daily activities. In addition, we were greatly helped by interns from both Japan and overseas.

7. ANTELOPE "Lemon Curry Roux"

In collaboration with ANTELOPE, a meadery in Shiga, we created a mead called " Lemon Curry Roux " using herbs . We also participated in their event and gave a presentation on mitosaya.

6. PALS series is popular

mitosaya PALS is a subscription service by mitosaya . We deliver original and collaborative products once a month. This is also a fun project, as it is possible only because of PALS.

5. Hoshinoya "KUNUSHINA" on Taketomi Island

Together with Hoshinoya Taketomi Island, we have produced "KUNUSHINA," a distilled liquor made from the medicinal herb "Nuchigusa" harvested on Taketomi Island. Please see here for the story of how KUNUSHINA was born.

4. The ABCs of MITOSAYA
ABC is an acronym for ALIVE, BASIC, CONDIMENTS, and is a new lineup of condiments. The first products released are herb salt, Worcestershire sauce, and grape vinegar.

3. Hand scabbard

We held an event called " Tenosaya - Enjoying the Blessings of Autumn " with " Tenoshima " , a Japanese restaurant in Aoyama 1-chome with roots in Teshima, Kagawa Prefecture . We served an elaborate course meal and over-paired drinks that exceeded the number of dishes. In addition, we had a pottery exhibition by Teshima Island Garden , a photo exhibition of "Sleeping Island" by Kentaro Kumon , and a presentation of products using Kagawa Hontaka , making it a packed three days.

2. Noma x mitosaya "YUYU"

We created an original liqueur called "YUYU" for the pop-up " Noma Kyoto " held by the Copenhagen restaurant Noma. It took us a year to answer the request to make a Scandinavian bitter drink using Japanese ingredients. We also had them use several blended teas made with ingredients from mitosaya on their non-alcoholic menu.

1. MI and YA open

Mitosaya is open to the public every Friday and Saturday. You are free to wander around the grounds, and at the entrance we have opened MI, a space for sorting garbage and collecting empty bottles, and YA, a shop where you can taste and purchase all of Mitosaya's products. We have also started guided tours by reservation.
