PEAR VERDE is a vermouth-style liqueur made by steeping herbs and medicinal plants grown at mitosaya in an eau-de-vie made from pears grown in Chiba Prefecture, and adding natural sweetness with fresh pear juice.

Japanese pears have a more subtle aroma than Western pears, but instead have a smooth and elegant fragrance. Taking advantage of this delicate flavor, we have soaked botanicals such as wormwood, common rue, fennel leaves and flowers, mint, basil, oregano, fennel seeds, and dill seeds shared with us by our neighbors in a tank for a year to bring out their deep aroma and flavor. In addition, we have blended the juice of fresh Hosui pears harvested this summer to add a light sweetness to the pears. As it is unsweetened, it does not interfere with the food and can be enjoyed during meals.

Its alcohol content is 23%, which is slightly higher than wine. You can enjoy it straight, or with ice and soda it makes a light and elegant aperitif. It also goes well with gin and white wine, making it a perfect ingredient in cocktails. Adding lemon or mint will enhance the refreshing taste.

Our encounter with young pear growers, including Seki Pear Farm in Misaki-cho, Isumi City, and One Heart Japan, a company that produces high-quality fruit juice in Ichihara City, led us to create PEAR VERDE. We feel like we have finally found the answer to the question of what makes a Japanese pear liquor.

PEAR VERDE is a vermouth-style liqueur made from eau de vie made from pears grown in Chiba Prefecture, macerated with herbs and medicinal plants grown at mitosaya, and sweetened naturally with fresh pear juice. Japanese pears are less aromatic than western pears, but instead have a light, elegant aroma. To take advantage of this delicate flavor, botanicals harvested at mitosaya, such as Japanese mugwort, henruda, fennel leaves and flowers, mint, basil, oregano, fennel seeds, and dill seeds from nearby farms, are allowed to macerate slowly in the tank for one year to bring out their deep aroma and flavor. The aromas and flavors are then extracted.

In addition, the juice from this summer's fresh harvest of Harumizu is blended to add a light sweetness of pear. Because it is unsweetened, it does not interfere with food and can be enjoyed during meals.

The alcohol content is 23 degrees, slightly higher than that of wine. It can be enjoyed straight or with ice or soda as a light and elegant aperitif. It is also a perfect accompaniment to gin and white wine, making it an ideal cocktail ingredient. Garnish with lemon or mint for an even more refreshing taste.
