Daifuku tea, also known as 'Oofukucha', is a celebratory tea drunk at New Year's parties, and originally it was a very simple tea made with only kelp and plum. At mitosaya, we have taken this opportunity to make this celebratory tea, 'Daifukucha', by changing the ingredients a little each year according to our own interpretation.
The base is barley. As whiskey malt was being prepared at the same time this year, malted barley was used and charcoal roasted. It is blended with mitosaya's standard herbs such as warm yellow tea flowers, bush clover and mint. The sweetness comes from the barley that has turned into malt through malting. The gorgeous aroma is accompanied by a slight sweetness, making this a gentle tea in the mouth. The refreshing aroma of mint lingers in the aftertaste, making it perfect for relaxing after a meal.
The roots and sprouts sprouting from the barley are incredibly adorable, and we hope that for everyone who eats this, it will be a year in which they want to sprout.

Daifuku-cha, also known as Daifuku-tea or Ohfuku-tea, is a festive tea drunk at New Year's. Originally, it was very simple, with only kombu (kelp) and ume plum. At mitosaya, we have been making our own interpretation of this festive tea, Daifuku-cha, with a little change in content every year.
The base of the tea is barley. This year, since we were preparing malt for whiskey at the same time, we used malted barley and roasted it over charcoal. The yellow color is blended with warm tea flowers and mitosaya's standard herbs such as hagi and mint. The malting process produces a sweetness from the malted barley. Underneath the gorgeous aroma, the tea has a slight sweetness that is gentle on the palate. The minty aftertaste leaves a refreshing aftertaste, so please enjoy this tea after a meal or other relaxing time.
The little sprouts that sprout from the barley are quite lovely, and we hope that everyone who enjoys this tea will have a "budding" year.
