Misumi Sweet Orange with Agroforestry Vanilla
Sales start from 10:00 on Sunday, June 30th
This is a distilled liquor made by mitosaya every year using navel oranges from Eguchi Farm in Kumamoto Prefecture. After distillation, vanilla from Madagascar is added. Eguchi Farm is located on the hillside of a small mountain in the Sankaku region of Kumamoto, and mainly cultivates citrus fruits using organic farming methods. The navel oranges, which have been grown without pesticides for about 40 years, have a deep orange skin that is incredibly fresh and have an impeccable aroma and flavor. After separating the flesh from the skin, the 200 kilograms of navel oranges delivered from Kumamoto in March, the flesh was roughly crushed, and some of it was placed in a tank with the flesh still intact, where it was fermented for about a month. It is distilled when the sugar content is almost gone.
On the other hand, the thickly cut skin contains the aroma and fruit flavor, and this part is soaked in spirits and then distilled.
The vanilla added to this distilled liquor is grown in Madagascar using a method called "agroforestry," which involves planting and growing multiple crops together. This method was invented to grow crops while protecting forests in tropical regions. It is a farming method that makes use of the blessings of nature and does not use pesticides or fertilizers.
Needless to say, citrus and vanilla go together well, but this drink has a freshness like taking a bite of a navel orange, and after drinking it the aroma of vanilla wafts through your nose, making it very invigorating.
Serve slightly chilled in a straight glass. Summer is always there.

This is a distilled spirit made from navels from Eguchi Farm in Kumamoto Prefecture, which mitosaya produces every year. After distillation, vanilla from Madagascar is added. Eguchi Farm is located on a small hillside in the Triangle region of Kumamoto, where they grow mainly citrus fruits using organic farming methods. The navels have been grown without pesticides for about 40 years, and their dark orange peels are very fresh and have a perfect aroma and taste. After all 200 kilograms of navel oranges arrived from Kumamoto in March are separated from the peel and the fruit, the fruit is crushed roughly and some is put in a tank with the peel intact, where it is fermented for about a month. When the sugar content is almost gone, it is distilled.
The thickly sliced peel, on the other hand, has aroma and fruitiness, and that part is soaked in rice spirits before distillation.
All the navel oranges are used in the distillate, and the vanilla added is grown in Madagascar using a method called "agroforestry," in which multiple crops are planted and grown together. This method was invented in tropical regions as a way to grow crops while protecting forests. This farming method takes advantage of nature's bounty and does not use pesticides or fertilizers.
Citrus and vanilla, needless to say, go well together. The freshness is like taking a bite of a navel orange, and after drinking, the aroma of vanilla blows out from your nose and refreshes you.
Chill it a bit and serve it in a straight glass. Summer will always be there.
