今年はじめて生姜の栽培にチャレンジしてみました。生姜は難しいとみんなに言われて恐る恐る植え付けしてからは、日々のお世話に勤しみました。畝の高さを保ったり、常に枯れ葉や草を被せて夏の暑さから守ること数ヶ月、掘ってみると小さな生姜の根が付いていました。土から掘り上げてすぐに加工できるのはキッチンと庭の近さが大事になってきます。もう少し欲しいな、、、と思ったら、鍋を火にかけたまま庭に駆け出すことができますから。生姜だけでなく庭には、生姜の仲間である植物がありますのでそれらも合わせてシロップにしました。辛味は優しく爽やかな味わい。庭の香りをぜひ、楽しんでください。炭酸やお水、お湯などで希釈するほか、カクテルの割材として、オイルやビネガーと良く撹拌すれば、ドレッシングのようにもお使いいただけます。

This year, we tried growing ginger for the first time. After months of careful care, small ginger roots were harvested. Thanks to the garden’s proximity to the kitchen, we can process them immediately after digging. In addition to ginger, we included related plants to enrich the syrup. The spice is gentle and refreshing. Dilute with soda, water, or hot water, or use it as a cocktail mixer or dressing by mixing with oil or vinegar.
