This is Mitosaya's first wine, made using Muscat Bailey A grapes harvested from Yokomori's vineyard in Hosaka-cho, Nirasaki city, Yamanashi prefecture, and brewed under contract at Shigei Brewery, run by Harada in Akeno-cho, Hokuto city.
Hosaka Town is located in the northwest of the Kofu Basin, at the foot of Mt. Kayagatake. Due to its high altitude and cool climate, the grapes mature slowly, which allows them to retain their color and acidity well.
The Muscat Bailey A harvested at the end of September was put into a stainless steel tank for 10 days of MC, lightly crushed, macerated for 4 days, pressed, and then allowed to undergo primary fermentation for 10 days before being aged in barrels for 4.5 months.
It has a lovely taste with the aroma of red berries such as cranberries and a sharp acidity like rosehip tea. As time passes, you can also feel the aroma of citrus fruits with a smoky hint of tankan, as well as the refreshing aroma of fresh herbs, mace, bay leaves, and spices.
It has almost no tannins and is made like a rosé with a pleasant flowing acidity, allowing you to enjoy the coolness of Hosaka's MBA.

This is mitosaya's first wine made from Muscat Berry A grapes harvested in Mr. Yokomori's vineyard in Hosaka-cho, Nirasaki City, Yamanashi Prefecture, and brewed on consignment at Shigei Brewery run by Mr. Harada in Akeno-cho, Hokuto City.
Hosaka-cho, located northwest of the Kofu Basin at the foot of Mt. Chigatake, has a high altitude and cool climate, which allows the grapes to ripen late and retain their color and acidity.
The harvested Muscat Berry A grapes, picked at the end of September, underwent 10 days of MC in stainless steel tanks, light crushing, 4 days of maceration, 10 days of main fermentation after pressing, and 4.5 months of barrel aging.
It has a lovely taste with red berry aromas such as cranberry, and a cuppy acidity like rose hip tea. As time goes by, the aroma of citrus fruits covered with smokiness, such as tangerine, fresh herbs, mace, and roasted herbs.
Fresh herbs, mace, bay leaf, and spice aromas can also be detected.
You can enjoy Hosaka's cool MBA with a pleasant acidity that flows in a rosé-like structure with almost no tannins. It is recommended to drink it not too cold.
