MIMOCA - Marugame Genichiro-Inokuma Museum of Contemporary Art in Marugame City, Kagawa Prefecture, will celebrate its 32nd anniversary on Thursday, November 23rd (national holiday).
Every year on the anniversary of the opening, various events are held to show our appreciation and hospitality to everyone.
On this day, we will be preparing some special birthday hospitality that is different from usual, and we hope to welcome everyone with the same friendly and attentive hospitality as Mr and Mrs Inokuma.
This year's theme is a taco party, modeled after the Inokuma couple's home parties.
Famous restaurants from Kagawa Prefecture and Shikoku will treat you to special menus available only on this day.
Mitosaya / CAN-PANY will also be participating in this event. This will be our first trip to Shikoku. We will be serving herbal cocktails and mocktails that go well with tacos.
There will also be a one-day-only talk event with Eguchi Hiroshi of mitosaya, who produced the taco party, and food essayist Hirano Sakiko.
The conversation will be free-flowing and centered on food, ranging from the cultural inclusiveness of tacos to the local food of Kagawa and Marugame, and the hospitality of the Inokuma couple.
Other exciting features include background music created by AISO just for that day, a welcome garden where herbs and vegetables for the taco party will be grown, a talk by a curator, craft workshops, and a sale of museum goods.

On this day, we would like to offer a different kind of birthday "hospitality" and welcome you with the same friendly and attentive attention to detail as Mr. and Mrs. Inokuma.
This year's theme is a taco party, like the home parties of Mr. and Mrs. Inokuma.
We will be serving a special menu for this special occasion, prepared by some of the best restaurants in Kagawa and Shikoku.
We, mitosaya / CAN-PANY, will be participating in this event. This will be our first business trip to Shikoku. We will be serving herbal cocktails and mocktails that go well with tacos.
The talk event with Hiroshi Eguchi of mitosaya and food essayist Sakiko Hirano, who directed this taco party, will be held only for this day.
They will talk about everything from the cultural receptiveness of tacos to the local food of Marugame, Kagawa, and the hospitality of Mr. and Mrs. Inokuma, using "food" as a starting point.
In addition, there will be background music created by AISO just for the day, a welcome garden where herbs and vegetables to be served at the taco party will grow, talks by curators, manufacturing workshops, a sale of museum goods, and much more.
