Mitosaya and Hender Scheme will release "DEAR DEER," a spirit distilled from deerskin.
"DEAR DEER" is a special spirit distilled from leather that was developed by mitosaya and Hender Scheme after several years of repeated prototyping.
In their search for leather that is harmless even if ingested, they arrived at deerskin, which is said to have been the first leather used by humans to wear. Without using tannins or chemicals used in the normal tanning process, all impurities on the deerskin were removed by hand from the rawhide, and Japanese pepper, a vine that grows in the mountains in winter and bears bright red berries, was distilled and aged in oak barrels.
"DEAR DEER" will be on sale from Monday, August 21st at a total of five Hender Scheme stores, including four SKIMA stores and the mitosaya online shop.
In addition, to commemorate the release of "DEAR DEER", a pre-launch event "mitosaya x Hender Scheme DEAR DEER" will be held for two days only on August 19th (Sat) and 20th (Sun) in Kuramae, Tokyo.
In the open, glass-walled venue, you can enjoy "DEAR DEER" on the spot, and you can also purchase collaboration items using Hender Scheme products such as special catering food made by mitosaya, coasters, trays, and notebooks. Of course, you can also purchase "DEAR DEER". Food will also be provided by Beet Eat, a game and curry restaurant in Kitami, Setagaya Ward.
In advance of the event, mitosaya's online shop will be selling a limited edition of tasting glasses with leather holders by Hender Scheme.
Purchasers will receive their glasses at the venue and can enjoy their meal and shopping while sipping on a drink with the glass hanging around their neck.
